This webcast will introduce you to TeamSite 6.7.0 and its new features.
If you
are planning or considering an upgrade to TeamSite 6.7.0 - this webcast will
cover some of the basic aspects of planning the upgrade such as access migration,
leveraging the new user and group management capabilities, delegation, using
URL tasks etc. At the end of this session, get a sneak peak into the features
under consideration for the next release which is an update to TeamSite 6.7.0.
Some of the enhancements included in TeamSite 6.7 are shown below:
- Role Management: Define, configure and edit the definition of a role from
the Administration tab in the Content Center Pro UI. (Note: The Admin tab
in CC Pro is available only to users who are “masters” in TeamSite)
- Adding
TeamSite Users: Discover and designate Operating System users to be TeamSite
users. This feature is also available only from the Admin tab
in CC
Pro and hence available only to “master”. While adding TeamSite
users, the choice of preferred UI (whether Content Center Standard or Content
Center Professional or both) can also be specified.
- Searching for Users and
Groups: Search for user or groups from the Content Center UI. All fields
that require a user or a group input can now support
searching and picking users or groups. The search can be conducted either
using the “friendly name” or the username.
- Create and Manage Groups:
Creating groups of users and assign them to pre-existing groups. Group
modification is possible only for TeamSite Groups and not Operating
System groups.
- Delegate Branch Administration: Ability to delegate the management
of branches to users who are not TeamSite Administrators.
- Delegate Group
Administration: Specify TeamSite users to be group administrators/managers.
Group managers need not be members of the group they manage/administrator.
- Role
Assignment: Assign roles to users or groups for a specific branch. Roles
are branch specific and users or groups assume the roles assigned
to them in
the branch.
- File and Folder Permissions: View and Modify file and
folder permissions from the Content Center UI. Most basic permissions can
be set, but
setting advanced file permissions on Windows is not available from
the Content
Center UI.
- Viewing User and Group Details: Friendly names can be
assigned to users and groups. These friendly names are displayed throughout
the
Content
Center UI
where usernames and groups are shown.
- New File Templates: Define
document templates that can be used during new file creation. Specify document
types based on branch,
workarea,
folder, role or group.
New Search features include:
- Cross-branch Search: Specify search criteria and perform searches across
branches. This is available only through CLTs and using the CSSDK APIs.
- Workarea
Search including modified files: Include modified files in workareas during
searches performed in a branch
