Content Quality and Time-to-Web Advanced Through New Features
SUNNYVALE, Calif., December 6th, 1999 - Interwoven, Inc. (NASDAQ:
IWOV), a leading provider of content management software for the enterprise
Web, today launched TeamSite 4.0, the latest version of its flagship product.
With a range of new features, TeamSite 4.0 builds on Interwoven's vision
that a business-critical content management solution supports all types
of content from all kinds of contributors, while keeping control with
the business manager.
The advanced workflow in TeamSite 4.0 allows business managers to assert
control over multiple Web initiatives that often have very different business
process requirements. For example, a customer relationship management
initiative will likely require a very different process than an eCommerce
initiative. TeamSite 4.0 is the only solution that provides a flexible,
task-based environment that enables organizations to control these complex,
multi-stage processes. The result is accelerated development, a streamlined
approval cycle and direct accountability.
"Companies need formal procedures to manage content on large Web sites,"
said IDC analyst Rikki Kirzner. "Complete content management solutions
should provide configurable workflow capabilities."
"Egreetings Network makes or breaks its business on the quality of its
Web content," said Don Chaney, vice president of engineering for Egreetings
Networks ( www.egreetings.com ),
an online digital greetings and gift center. "Quality and time-to-Web
often seem at odds in Web publishing. With TeamSite's advanced workflow,
we will make sure that the right people create and approve all Web content
- thus ensuring the Egreetings audience is getting the information they
need, when they need it."
Web leaders are increasingly building dynamic Web sites. This requires
the ability to manage diverse content types, automatically capture metadata
and smoothly move content from development to production. TeamSite 4.0
adds support for XML-based metadata that can be stored in a database where
it can be accessed by servers for dynamic delivery. Since TeamSite 4.0
supports both file system and database assets, organizations can avoid
costly and impractical retrofitting of content and quickly deliver a dynamic
Web experience.
"As the premier online information portal and B2B eCommerce service for
electronic engineers and e-Procurement professionals, ChipCenter has a
lot of domain content, both deep and wide," said Madhukar Govindaraju,
chief technology officer of ChipCenter LLC ( www.chipcenter.com ).
"To manage this enormous amount of information, and serve our large number
of users with diverse interests, we rely on Interwoven TeamSite 4.0 to
deliver all kinds of constantly changing content, in a personalized format,
regardless of source or repository. Retrofitting content into a database
is not an option for our site."
"By listening to our customers, including Web leaders such as GE and
Cisco, we built TeamSite to be the most comprehensive Web content management
solution available," said Interwoven president and CEO Martin Brauns.
TeamSite 4.0 is available immediately. For more detailed information
