TeamSite's Robust Capabilities and its Integration with Microsoft eCommerce Solutions Empowers Content Contributors While Maintaining Control

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - May 30, 2000 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV) the leading provider of enterprise-class content management software, today announced that Frank Russell Company, one of the world's leading investment services firms, is using Interwoven software solutions to manage content for www.russell.com and for its intranet site. Interwoven TeamSite software is being used to create a more efficient Web publishing process by giving content originators direct control over Web content from start to finish, ultimately providing internal and external clients with timely access to the company's investment expertise.

"By providing our employees with TeamSite, they are able to take direct control for the information they are responsible for on our Web sites," said John Stingl, manager, Web services team at Frank Russell. "With TeamSite Templating, we can now empower content contributors throughout the company to distribute information to the public, via our Web site, that has a consistent look and feel. By including more Frank Russell people in the process, we are improving the overall quality of the Web experience for our customers."

Frank Russell offers investment planning services and diversified funds to individual and institutional investors in 35 countries. The company has retainer consulting relationships with clients representing more than US$1 trillion worldwide.

Frank Russell considered using its document management system to publish to the Web but found that it did not scale sufficiently for the Web."We have successfully managed our internal documents with a document management system but it didn't meet our needs for openness and scalability for the Web," added Stingl. "We needed Web content contributors to be able to work in parallel and incorporate diverse Web assets which was not possible with a document management system. We also needed a system that would seamlessly integrate with Microsoft Site Server."

The advanced workflow engine in TeamSite ensures that all site content is approved and quality checked by the right people prior to publishing.

"Because investment information is time-sensitive, managing the russell.com data in a structured manner is imperative," said Joe Ruck, vice president of corporate and channels marketing at Interwoven, Inc. "TeamSite is streamlining the way content is created, approved and posted to the russell.com site, creating more time for the content owners to focus on the actual content."

Another key selection criteria for Russell was the Site Rollback feature. If incorrect information is published or something new isn't working properly, Site Rollback allows recovery of any earlier version of the Web site. TeamSite archives complete copies of the Web site created during the course of its ongoing development and maintenance.
