SUNNYVALE, Calif. - August 15, 2000 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leading provider of enterprise-class content management solutions, today announced that Qantas is using a new content management system, Interwoven TeamSite for its on-line travel operations at www.qantas.com.au .

Qantas group general manager E-Commerce, Paul Shepanski, said the airline expected the new software to improve dramatically the time-to-web for content updates.

"Basically, we were looking for a faster way for divisions within Qantas to prepare and approve web content for which they have business responsibility and accountability..

"The new system involves user-friendly templates to capture content, present it, and deploy it automatically to the site," Mr Shepanski added.

TeamSite software has been implemented with the first phases involving the development of a managed content solution for Qantas Americas and necessary infrastructure for future rollout of content management worldwide.

"With TeamSite, our staff can quickly approve and publish their latest on-line promotions and other information without the time consuming process of working through a centralised technical department," Mr Shepanski said.

Interwoven Australian operations country manager, Kyle McManus, said Interwoven was excited at being associated with Australia's leading travel site.

"Qantas is now creating a rich, multimedia online experience by incorporating diverse web assets from both databases and file systems. TeamSite's ability to integrate with BEA's WebLogic Application Server also enables dynamic transactional functionality to give customers an interactive personalised experience," Mr McManus said.

"TeamSite integrates seamlessly with best-of-breed applications, laying a solid foundation for a dynamic Web experience where content must be timely, relevant, and compelling," he added.

Qantas operates an average of 450 domestic flights a day and around 540 international flights every week, serving more than 120 destinations in 35 countries. The company's main business is the transportation of passengers and air freight. In addition to the core airline, Qantas subsidiaries operate in specialist markets including regional airlines Eastern Australia Airlines, Southern Australia Airlines, Sunstate and Airlink, as well as inflight catering, holiday and travel operations and information technology. Qantas operates a fleet of 145 aircraft and carries more than 19 million passengers a year. It operates the largest Australia-based airline loyalty program, with more than two million members, and caters for many other customer groups including freight customers, travel agents and wholesalers. Qantas employs some 30,000 staff in more than 30 countries. In 2000, Qantas was named as the Australian company with the best corporate image for the 11th year running, and in February 1996 Qantas was named Airline of the Year by Air Transport World.
