TeamSite Helps TI to Achieve 10-Fold Reduced Deployment Time
for Market-Critical New Product Information
SUNNYVALE, Calif. October 9, 2000 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the
leading provider of enterprise-class content management software, today announced
that Texas Instruments (TI) Incorporated has implemented Interwoven TeamSite
to manage the development and deployment of technical, product and training
content on its Web site (www.ti.com). TI, the global semiconductor company,
is the world's leading designer and supplier of digital signal processing (DSP)
and analog technologies. Already, TI has seen more than a 10-fold reduction
in the time it takes to deploy new product information.
In the first phase of the implementation, TI is using Interwoven to manage
technical content within two business areas of the site: the software development
portion of the DSP section and the power management portion of the site's analog
section. With Interwoven, TI has been able to enlist a growing number of site
contributors, significantly streamlining the process of getting new content
online. Key features have been Interwoven Templating, which lets contributors
post content without having to worry about the formatting, and TeamSite's advanced
workflow, which ensures all quality checks and approvals are completed before
content is deployed to the site. TeamSite also integrates seamlessly with TI's
eCommerce and personalization solution, ATG Dynamo product suite.
"We introduce new products into the market almost on a daily basis, and that
really puts the pressure on us to keep content as fresh as possible," said Jane
Schoen, director of TI's Internet channel. "With Interwoven TeamSite Templating,
we're now able to create and post new content several times a day if necessary.
Before the implementation, it would take us as much as a week to make content
changes."
In the second and third phases of the implementation, TeamSite will be rolled
out to all other DSP and analog content areas. TeamSite, featuring a hybrid
architecture that supports all forms of content, also will be used to deploy
multimedia content related to the product training section of the site.
TI plans to steadily increase the number of content contributors and the scope
of site content over the next year, and it will rely heavily on Interwoven Templating
and TeamSite workflow to make it easy to add new contributors including contributors
from outside the United States. TI, is expecting to launch several country-specific
sites, using Interwoven as the standard for content management. TeamSite's advanced
workflow will also make it easy for TI to route content for translation and
localization.
"Texas Instruments understands that the creation of timely, quality content
starts with a broad cross-section of contributors," said Joe Ruck, vice president
of marketing at Interwoven. "Interwoven brings the people who hold critical
product and local market knowledge into the content-creation process, thanks
to TeamSite's user-friendly interface and its ability to integrate with any
authoring solution."
