Open Software Standard the Deciding Factor for Enterprise Class
Content Management
SUNNYVALE, Calif., October 23, 2000 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the
leading provider of enterprise-class content management software, today announced
that Netherlands-based ABN AMRO Bank has an international software licensing
software agreement to develop, manage and deploy content to an estimated 250
ABN AMRO Bank sites globally. ABN AMRO Bank is currently using TeamSite, Open
Deploy and XML-based TeamSite Templating to create and manage information on
corporate Websites and on Maxtrad, the eCommerce trading community.
Open, standards-based architectural design were critical in ABN AMRO Bank's
choice for Interwoven. By integrating easily with existing Web infrastructure
and backend databases, ABN AMRO Bank can more easily and efficiently develop
new content and repurpose existing content for its mission-critical sites. Currently,
ABN AMRO Bank content is contributed from five country teams across Europe and
North America. ABN AMRO Bank plans to extend content contribution to other regions
as well.
"Interwoven TeamSite was considered as the only true content management solution
by ABN AMRO Bank", explained Mhoire McGrath-Cade, vice president, Interactive
Delivery Channels, ABN AMRO Bank. " TeamSite allows us to easily add localized
content, include data from back office systems, and integrate with other Web
applications such as personalization and security."
Another key selection criteria for ABN Amro Bank's selection of Interwoven
was the integrated workflow management in TeamSite software. ABN AMRO Bank is
able to create tailored workflows for each initiative to improve content development,
quality control and publishing. This allows ABN AMRO Bank to focus more effort
on providing a tailored content and an interactive user experience for each
customer touchpoint.
"We are proud that ABN AMRO Bank has chosen Interwoven as its global enterprise
class content management solution," said Jan Nordhagen, vice president, European
operations, Interwoven, Inc. "By extending their success with Maxtrad to their
other Web properties, they have realized their goal of building a framework
for launching dynamic, eCommerce programs that can be replicated across the
worldwide organization."
ABN AMRO Bank selected Interwoven solutions first to build and manage Maxtrad,
the eCommerce trading community earlier this year. See http://www.interwoven.com.tw/press/1023abnpr.html
for more details. Also, please see the ABN AMRO Bank presentation "100-Day Challenge"
given at the Interwoven GearUp Conference at http://www.interwoven.com.tw/news/events/gearuplive/presentations .
"Based on our success with Maxtrad, it was a logical extension for us to choose
Interwoven content management solutions to run our corporate sites as well,"
added McGrath-Cade. "A single content management solution across multiple initiatives
will allow us to share and re-use content. This will save us development time
and resources."
ABN AMRO Bank is running Interwoven's software on HPUX, Windows NT and is in
the process of using it on Sun Solaris.
