Interwoven Demonstrates Content Infrastructure Technology and Market Leadership
Sunnyvale, CA. - June 18, 2001 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leading provider of Content Infrastructure, today announced that the CMP Media Group's Computer Reseller News (CRN) has awarded Interwoven its E-Star award, as the top content management vendor. Other winners included BEA, BroadVision, i2 Technologies, Oracle, Siebel Systems and WebMethods.
"We are pleased with CMP's recognition of Interwoven's technology innovation and market leadership. It is a credit to our longstanding commitment to excellence," said Joe Ruck, senior vice president of marketing for Interwoven. "We will continue our dedication to providing a Content Infrastructure to our world-class customers that eclipses the conventional definition of content management."
The Web content management market is expected to reach $10.5 billion by 2003, including $3.9 billion in licenses and $6.6 billion in consulting work, according to Gartner Dataquest. That compares with this year's $4.75 billion market, including $1.75 billion in licenses and $3 billion in consulting work, the research firm estimates.
According to John Longwell, editor of CMP Media Group's CRN, the E-Star award was created to shed light on fast-growing emerging software categories in the eBusiness arena and the pioneering companies developing software for the Internet economy. After looking at market share data to determine the finalists, they further refined the list based on technology innovation, market leadership and the strength of its relationships with solution providers and system integrators.
One of the reasons for Interwoven's E-Star award was the close relationship it has built with leading systems integrators. "They've done an excellent job positioning themselves as the leader and positioning the need for content management," said Lorin Coles, senior vice president of alliances at iXL.
Interwoven was designated the E-Star winner ahead of contenders Documentum and Vignette. The full article on the E-Star award can be found in the June 11th issue of Computer Reseller News.
