Content Collaboration and Management Capabilities to Enhance Britannia's Web-Based Services for UK Customers

Sunnyvale, CA - August 13, 2001 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leading provider of Content Infrastructure, today announced that Britannia Building Society, www.britannia.co.uk, the leading British mortgage lender with a 190 branches across the UK, is using Interwoven's Content Infrastructure product suite to offer customers information channels including online services for buying, managing, improving and securing the home.

"The Web is an integral part of Britannia's future business strategy, and with Interwoven's Content Infrastructure we will be offering our customers links to key sites that can provide valuable information on areas such as do-it-yourself home improvements, alarm systems and moving assistance," said Britannia's head of information systems, Martin Ellison. "Interwoven offers Britannia the leading Content Infrastructure technology on which to build all our future Web initiatives, ensuring that our customers see us as an invaluable as well as relevant reference source throughout the home-buying process and beyond."

Britannia's online services are based around four key information channels that offer UK residents innovative products to ease their home buying experience. Interwoven's Content Infrastructure will reduce the time it had taken for Website editors to manage all Web assets.

Interwoven TeamSite software's virtualization feature allows contributors to work on their own, virtual copies of the Website and gives all contributors the ability to preview and test any changes in context to the overall site. By using the virtualization, Britannia's non-technical contributors accelerate time-to-Web while increasing the reliability and accuracy of content.

The Britannia Website has generated significant interest from site visitors, making it an increasingly important part of the business. The site enables customers to access information on all aspects of home ownership. Britannia's future plans include delivering quotations and product applications online.

"The Internet is an increasingly important channel for the financial services sector to deliver up-to-date and accurate information to customers," said David Ogidi, UK managing director for Interwoven. "Interwoven's Content Infrastructure provides Britannia the right tools to develop the necessary businesses services for a loyal online customer base."

In April, Interwoven announced its new Content Infrastructure product suite, which includes products for content aggregation, content collaboration, content management, content intelligence, and content distribution.
