Sunnyvale, CALIF. - October 1, 2001 - Interwoven Inc., (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leading provider of Content Infrastructure, today announced that it is providing Content Infrastructure requirements for the djuice Website, featuring djuice dragons' quest to win the Volvo Ocean Race. djuice dragons is the Norwegian-based sailing team participating in the Volvo Ocean Race 2001-2002, sponsored by djuice, the mobile Internet portal subsidiary of Norwegian telecommunications group, Telenor. The Volvo Ocean Race is a 32,000 nautical mile, professionally-crewed ocean race - the most esteemed Formula One-style race in the world.
The Website tracks the djuice dragons yacht's progress leading from the start in Southampton, England and follows them on mobile terminals via SMS and WAP, to Cape Town, Sydney, Auckland, Rio de Janeiro, Miami, Baltimore, La Rochelle, Gothenburg and finally to Kiel, Germany, for approximately nine months and 32,700 nautical miles later.
Content contributors from Norway's TV2 Interactive, will use Interwoven's Content Infrastructure to create and deploy real-time updates in English and in Norwegian for fans through the official Website, http://www.djuice.com/dragons The TV2 Interactive writers and editors, based in Bergen and Oslo, Norway, will deploy text in the form of news and profiles, audio and visual files onto the Web/Wap site during the course of the nine-month race, and will ensure users always get the latest news via SMS alerts. This, combined with geo-positional mapping, will provide racing fans worldwide with the latest news on the high seas.
"Interwoven's Content Infrastructure enables a varied and dispersed team of specialist IT partners to avoid the hazards of a multichannel (Web/Wap/SMS) content process bottleneck and create a compelling Web/Wap/SMS experience for our users," said André Vogt, the project manager at djuice.
"djuice's online coverage of djuice dragons is a great example of how Interwoven's Content Infrastructure allows international, diversified companies like djuice to pursue parallel Web initiatives while at the same time provide complete brand and content control," said Jan B. Nordhagen, vice president of Interwoven Europe, Middle East and Africa. "I am delighted that our relationship with djuice and Telenor is enabling them to reach new audiences and customers, through the Web, across the world."
The Volvo Ocean Race started from Southampton, England on the 23rd of September 2001.
