All Enterprise Assets to be Easily Managed on Employee Portal Leading to Significant Time Savings

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - June 3, 2002 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leader in Enterprise Content Management, today announced that Energen Corporation (NYSE: EGN), a diversified energy holding company, has selected Interwoven to underpin its intranet serving 1,500 employees. With Interwoven's unique collaborative model for contributing content, Energen will be able to more efficiently manage the growth of the intranet as a communications tool and ultimately improve employee communications enterprise-wide.

Energen currently uses a small Web team to manage their intranet content including HTML, graphics, and office documents - all of which are located on individual employee desktops. With Interwoven ECM those who know the content best will be able to contribute to the intranet while maintaining original files in a central location.

"With two subsidiaries (Alabama Gas Corporation and Energen Resources Corporation) contributing to the site, it was imperative that Energen select a content management solution that easily allows content to be published to the intranet," said André Taylor, vice president communications at Energen. "Interwoven's unique collaboration features allow for thousands of office documents including HTML pages and PDFs to be easily uploaded to the site by a non-technical worker."

Previously, Energen had no content management solution and therefore had to rely solely on the expertise of their intranet team. The first group at Energen to use Interwoven will be the Human Resources department. As the department with the most content and the widest reach within the corporation, HR employees will be posting job applications, training information, 401K and insurance information, description of benefits and other forms onto the intranet. With all HR content posted to the intranet, employees will be able to easily and quickly get the information they need.

Energen plans to go live with Interwoven's ECM solution in Q2 of this year.
