Local, State, and National Governments Worldwide Rely on Interwoven to Improve Citizen Relationships and Meet Government Information Mandates
E-Gov Conference, WASHINGTON, DC - June 24, 2002 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leader in Enterprise Content Management, today announced that local, regional, and national governments worldwide are relying on Interwoven to underpin key ECM initiatives, improve citizen relationships and meet key government mandates. Organizations around the world, including the Australian Department of Transport and Regional Services, Australian Tourist Commission, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Library of Congress (America's Library), Maryland State Highway Administration, Natural History Museum (U.K.), Norwich City Council (U.K.), Oakland County Michigan, Queensland Emergency Services, Singapore Defense & Science Technology Agency, State of Florida, State of Georgia Department of Community Health, U.K. Department of Trade & Industry, U.K. Ordnance Survey, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Immigration & Naturalization Service, U.S. National Library of Medicine, U.K. National Lottery, Valley Transportation Authority, the Western Australia Department of Justice, and many others, have turned to Interwoven to meet their ECM requirements.
"The public sector today is feeling the pressure of increasing government requirements to "digitize" all content assets, systems and processes," said Jack Jia, CTO of Interwoven. "We are pleased that Interwoven enterprise content management is the choice of so many government bodies around the globe. Our ECM solution makes critical information more accessible to government constituents and promotes collaboration between employees and the various local, state and national government agencies that they serve."
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Employee Portal
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts selected Interwoven enterprise content management to underpin its new online portal Mass.Gov (www.mass.gov), and, in conjunction with Epicentric's Foundation Server, Interwoven allows 160 state agencies to easily contribute content to the portal. With the new portal, the Commonwealth will avoid costs by eliminating the need for each agency to develop individual sites, therefore giving a standard look and feel. Mass.Gov is the first phase of the state's initiative to embrace "one-stop shopping" for government services, giving citizens, businesses, cities, and towns the power to deal with Massachusetts' government easily and reliably. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts also worked closely with leading global information technology services company EDS for its systems integration requirements.
"The new Mass.Gov portal provides services according to the needs of citizens and businesses, not according to government structure," said Robert E. Nevins, director of Mass.Gov. "To achieve this, the Commonwealth needed an enterprise content management solution that would allow employees at all 160 agencies to easily add content to the portal without significant training - and with Interwoven, each agency can maintain control of their own content."
Great Britain's Ordnance Survey Underpins Portal Strategy with Interwoven's ECM
Ordnance Survey, Great Britain's national mapping agency, recently selected Interwoven enterprise content management to provide content to the Plumtree Corporate Portal as well as Ordnance Survey's traditional online presence. This will allow the portal to be an efficient eBusiness tool, accessible by businesses, partners and the general public. Ordnance Survey must also meet strict British government guidelines that stipulate that all government services must be available online by 2005.
"The Web is integral to our long-term strategy, and in order to meet government objectives it was imperative that we find a solution to make our services available online," commented Mark Waddilove, information systems project manager, Ordnance Survey. "In an organization as diverse as ours, it is essential that responsibility for content is conferred to all employees; at the same time, we need to maintain control of our brand in real-time across all channels. Ordnance Survey is renowned for its superb quality and attention to detail. We are proud to be working with Interwoven, a partner who shares our high quality standards, helping us transform our online presence."
Interwoven is exhibiting at the eGov Conference, Washington Convention Center, June 24-27, 2002. Please visit us at Booth #1324 to see demonstrations of and learn more about the Interwoven Solution for Government.
