More Than 50 Joint Customers Leveraging Interwoven ECM for Unique Capabilities Such as Virtualization of Dynamic BEA WebLogic Applications
SUNNYVALE, Calif., - June 25, 2002 - Interwoven, Inc. Through its TeamTurbo and TeamPortal for BEA product offerings, Interwoven enterprise content management integrates tightly with BEA WebLogic Server and BEA WebLogic Portal-. Interwoven's support for the BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform extends the proven relationship that currently addresses the eBusiness needs of more than 50 joint customers worldwide.

Toshiba America Business Solutions
Joint Interwoven-BEA customer Toshiba America Business Solutions (TABS) implemented a business-to-business dealer portal, called the FYI Portal that gives dealers access to critical business information. Implementing a portal allowed TABS to consolidate dealer access to all of their disparate business applications and allowed them to implement a sophisticated entitlements structure to maintain secure access for more than 15,000 users.
"The solution to our problem was to empower the dealers to administer their own users," said Denise Fishel, director of eBusiness Planning and Development for Toshiba American Business Solutions. "We also wanted to provide a single secure portal for all dealers to access applications as well as information on products and services. The FYI portal, which consists of an integrated infrastructure solution that includes BEA WebLogic and Interwoven enterprise content management, allows the dealers to manage and deploy content on the portal and properly manage their access to product information, order placement, sales training programs, sales incentive programs and the TABS knowledge base."
Fifty Customers Worldwide More than 50 joint customers are currently using Interwoven TeamSite software and BEA WebLogic as the basis for a comprehensive infrastructure solution - application, transaction, content - enterprise-wide. Customers include Affymetrix, British Airways, Channel 4 (U.K), Charles Schwab, Credit Suisse First Boston, DirecTV, the Football Assocation (U.K), General Motors, Inc., Novartis International Ag, T-Mobile, Singapore Airlines, Telenor Mobil, Toshiba America Business Solutions, Vivendi Universal, and Washington Mutual Bank.
"Interwoven enterprise content management portal offering for WebLogic Portal fills a critical requirement of our enterprise customers," said Scott Edgington, vice president and general manager, BEA Global Software Partners. "By working with a proven enterprise content management leader like Interwoven, we can offer joint customers a standards-based integrated infrastructure solution to accelerate and support their portal initiatives."
Interwoven has been a BEA Three Star Partner since early 2000 and both companies are active in the standards community. Together, they are collaborating on JSR 170 to define a standard Java API to access content repositories and are also working with others to establish a committee in one of the industry standards organizations to specify a Web Services interface to content management systems.
"Building on its undisputed success in the application server market, BEA is poised to become a leader in the burgeoning portal marketplace," said Max Carnecchia, vice president of worldwide alliances at Interwoven. "The best-of-suite combination of Interwoven enterprise content management with BEA WebLogic Platform 7.0 will enable customers to quickly deploy comprehensive and extensible portal solutions quickly while simplifying access to relevant enterprise content and applications."
