Former IBM Executive to Run Interwoven's Worldwide Sales Organization

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - July 10, 2002 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leader in Enterprise Content Management, today announced the appointment of Thor Culverhouse as senior vice president of worldwide sales reporting directly to Interwoven President and COO, John Van Siclen. Mr. Culverhouse replaces Mike Backlund who is leaving Interwoven to pursue personal interests. Culverhouse will have ultimate responsibility for all aspects of sales for Interwoven, including all worldwide sales operations, sales revenue, and account management goals.

"He brings to Interwoven a proven track record of managing a global enterprise solution sales force as well as a strong background in the channel and the SMB marketplace."

Culverhouse has more than 15 years of experience in the technology industry, most recently at IBM Corporation where he served as IBM's vice president, SMB & Channel Sales, Data Management. Working closely with IBM's global business units, Mr. Culverhouse was responsible for direct and channel sales internationally within the enterprise software space, including companies such as SAP, PeopleSoft, Siebel, Ariba, and JD Edwards.

Prior to IBM, Mr. Culverhouse's executive technology experience included Informix and Tektronix, among others, in various executive sales and business development roles. While at Informix, Culverhouse served as vice president of North American sales, and at Textronix he was business development manager responsible for sales efforts throughout the US, Canada, and South America.

Mr. Culverhouse holds an MBA from the University of Portland as well as a BS in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University.
