Collaborative Enterprise Content Management on Customer Portal Results in Significant Time Savings; Critical Business Information Reaches Global Community Instantly

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - August 6, 2002 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM), today announced that QRS Corporation (Nasdaq: QRSI), a leading supplier of adaptive commerce solutions for the extended supply chain, is improving communication and business efficiency by using Interwoven ECM to manage content on its customer portal and corporate site.

QRS selected Interwoven ECM two and a half years ago to manage content on their corporate site, and because of the success of the site, QRS chose Interwoven for its customer portal as well. Working with IBM WebSphere Portal platform, the company was able to complete the implementation in 20 days.

"Interwoven is saving QRS, on average, two hours of formatting time for every document that goes on the portal," said Lisa Blaney, project manager at QRS. "The time it takes to post content to the portal is dramatically decreased; now it takes only a few minutes using Interwoven ECM compared to our previous system that would take days."

Prior to the Interwoven ECM implementation, QRS knowledge workers would create documents and then send them to a content producer who was responsible for formatting the content so that it could be posted on the portal - a process that was labor intensive. Now with Interwoven implemented, QRS content owners can create, share, and maintain documents, and publish that content through the use of pre-defined QRS-specific templates. As a result, publishers can reduce the time needed to post content. Publishing content that once took three days now takes 10 minutes, instantly reaching a global community.

Interwoven XML-based TeamSite Templating software allows QRS subject matter experts to easily submit, while also maintaining central control of the look and feel of content. TeamSite Templating will free contributors from the burden of learning HTML and will also facilitate the sharing of content across various QRS departments via Interwoven's unique content collaboration framework.

"Interwoven ECM has allowed QRS to work in a collaborative environment where they can share resources and become more efficient," said Jack Jia, CTO of Interwoven. "By maintaining all QRS documents within Interwoven, they are reducing the amount of redundant content which leads to a more productive workforce."

QRS has realized that templates are key to making sure all the content is consistent and has the same look and feel. QRS is currently using approximately 30 templates for financial information, press releases, and product information including other key corporate documentation.
