Dr. Mark Hale to Explore the Critical Relationship Between XML and Content Management
SUNNYVALE, Calif., - August 26, 2002 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM), today announced that renowned Interwoven XML expert Dr. Mark A. Hale, Ph.D., P.E., will be speaking at a session entitled XML in Content Management at the fourth annual XML Web Services One Conference hosted by SIGS/101 Conferences August 26-30 at the World Trade Center in Boston.
XML Web Services One is a training conference for experienced software architects and engineers in the corporate development community around the world. The August 2002 conference offers targeted, focused, expert-level classes taught by XML and Web Services gurus, hands-on tutorials, and an exhibit floor.
Interwoven Session Title: XML in Content Management
Speaker: Dr. Mark Hale, Director of Content Technologies, Interwoven, Inc.
Date and Time: Thursday, August 29, 8:00am-9:30am
Session Description: There are two sides to the XML "coin" - the data, messaging, and transaction-oriented world, and the parallel content universe. While much has been heard about data-oriented standards such as those for Web Services and B2B integration, there is an equal amount of activity in the content side.
In this session, Dr. Hale will explore how enterprise content is being encoded, managed, published, and syndicated using XML and its associated technologies. Dr. Hale will also cover the accepted content standards specifications built upon by major Web Services players attending at the conference. This topic underscores the current market shift from locked content stores to virtual repositories with integrated transformation and search. Dr. Hale will conclude his presentation with an in-depth discussion on Web Services reliability - a must for this technology to be accepted in business going forward.
Dr. Hale is internationally known for his work in content technology solutions for business and is considered to be an authority on business strategies for adopting XML. He has worked for more than a decade in the field, writes for numerous technical journals and speaks around the globe on XML and content management. Dr. Hale serves on standards bodies for W3C, OASIS, IETF, and IEEE.
