SUNNYVALE, Calif., - September 17, 2002 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), the leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM), today announced that Interwoven XML expert Dr. Mark A. Hale, P.E., will be speaking at a session entitled Using Standards-Based XML for eBusiness at the fifth annual XML World Conference at the Marriott in New Orleans, September 23-25.
XML World 2002 is a conference and exhibition that, over the last five years, has brought together developers, customers, and vendors from across the globe to explore the XML phenomenon. The September conference will host a group of events that have in the past been staged separately and that focus on Content Management, Portal Solutions, Wireless Applications, and Electronic Business Environments. This year, each of these components will constitute an independent track over which a co-chair, selected for their leadership in each field, will organize a timely and relevant program. Attendees include developers, architects, technology managers, business strategists, integrators, and investors
Interwoven Session Title: Using Standards-Based XML for eBusiness
Speaker: Dr. Mark Hale, Director of Content Technologies and Standards Architect, Interwoven, Inc.
Date and Time: Wednesday, September 25, 3:15-4:00pm
Session Description: Extensible mark-up language (XML) is emerging as the great enabler of eBusiness. Because it reduces the time-to-market and cost of implementation, XML is a driving force between the technological shift that is levelling the competitive business playing field.
The low-entry cost and flexibility of XML enables fast time-to-market for new eCommerce initiatives. In this presentation, Dr. Hale will explore how standards-based XML facilitates rapid content creation and helps make content available anywhere, in any format, and on any device. He will describe how publishing templates based on XML allows non-technical knowledge workers to create, deploy, and repurpose content.
Real-world examples in the aerospace, government, and technology sectors will be covered that show the use of Content Services, introduced earlier this year by Interwoven and its partners. It is the only publicly available specification designed to expose Enterprise Content Management as a Web service enhancing the reliability of platform integration.
