Interwoven's Connector Suite Jump-Starts Content Initiatives and Allows Companies to Capitalize on Existing IT Investments
San Francisco, Calif. - GearUp Conference. - October 29, 2002 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), a world leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM), today announced its Connector Suite, continuing Interwoven's technological innovation in seamless integrations with mission-critical IT technology. With the vast majority of IT strategy involving the integration of multiple technologies, openness has become a key competitive differentiator for customers seeking an ECM solution.
"Businesses are increasingly moving away from a model where documents and other enterprise assets are locked away in vaults," said Jack Jia, CTO at Interwoven. "Now the focus is on how to make the most of that content across different parts of the business to more effectively capitalize on their existing IT investments."
As an example, the national railway of Spain uses Interwoven for multiple initiatives and has cited "Openness" as a key attribute. "Interwoven allows us to manage content from railroad news, events, online games, etc," said Carlos Manuel Sanches, manager of interactive media for Spain's national railway, RENFE. "The system is capable of communicating with all kind of databases, and it is fully compatible with all of the existing technologies that we use."
Connector Suite
Interwoven's comprehensive Connector Suite software gives enterprises the ability to jump-start their content initiatives from building dynamic enterprise applications to simply supporting collaboration around a new project.
-Application and Portal Servers: The ability to quickly develop, test, and deploy Web and portal applications is critical to the success of these initiatives. To address these needs, Interwoven created a family of connectors for both. For Web application developers, Interwoven created TeamTurbo, which enables businesses to integrate the Interwoven Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform with industry-leading J2EE and .Net application servers. For portal application developers, Interwoven created TeamPortal connectors, which seamlessly connect with leading portal applications.
-Databases & Repositories: To enable enterprises to fully leverage their document storage systems, Interwoven has created connectors that seamlessly connect with leading repositories and databases. They include: DataDeploy, which maps to any database schema, without having to be programmed; and ContentProvider, which enables enterprises to search and browse multiple repositories from a single point of entry.
-Enterprise Applications: From ERP to CRM to portals, enterprises have aggressively adopted a variety of enterprise applications to increase productivity and control costs. To meet these demands, Interwoven offers an array of proven integration solutions.
