Thousands of Enterprise Assets - Both Code and Content - Easily Managed and Deployed in Seconds Using Interwoven ECM
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - December 4, 2002 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), a world leader in enterprise content management (ECM), today announced that AirClic, Inc. is improving customer service by using Interwoven ECM to expand its services offerings and deliver targeted, real time information to their mobile customers anywhere in the world. With Interwoven technology, AirClic is also realizing significant benefits by managing both application code and content within a single repository, resulting in streamlined internal business processes and increased employee productivity.
AirClic enables enterprises to deploy mobile information services that are both fast and simple to use on virtually any mobile device. AirClic-enabled mobile information services increase the efficiency and productivity of mobile work forces, extend the reach of enterprises to mobile customers, and bring real time information gathering and retrieval into people's hands on phones or PDAs they already carry.
"Interwoven's technology is powerful and flexible enough to create XML files or HTML files without hours of effort, and has allowed us to offer extra services that we would not have attempted prior to using Interwoven," said Suren Gupta, executive vice president of operations and infrastructure at AirClic. "We're taking full advantage of Interwoven's core competency, which is efficient enterprise content management, so that we can focus on what matters most to us - our customers and community of application developers."
AirClic's Mobile Information Platform (MI) is a Web-based software platform enabling fast and secure mobile information access via SmartCodes (numeric sequences or bar codes). In some solutions, the information associated with SmartCodes comes from third-party vendors who need to distribute content to their mobile device customers or employees. Since replacing a homegrown content management system with Interwoven in Q3 of this year, AirClic is using Interwoven ECM to combine the code and content from third parties and send it to the end-user. AirClic's customers are primarily businesses and enterprises that need access to wireless data. The use of Interwoven has allowed AirClic to assemble dynamic content and, analyzing raw data, to produce targeted content that is pushed out to individual users.
Interwoven ECM allows for code and content authors to work hand-in-hand in a single environment to save time and money developing eBusiness applications. Contributors can work in parallel on multiple initiatives, working collaboratively without conflicts or confusion. By testing, versioning, and deploying all application assets together, contributors can work more efficiently and increase the quality of their work. Without the integrated development and testing environment afforded by Interwoven ECM, companies like AirClic would lose valuable developer productivity.
Another component of Interwoven ECM that has been critical to AirClic is Interwoven OpenDeploy. Interwoven OpenDeploy software enables enterprises to distribute and replicate all types of content, including code, from development and quality assurance out to multi-tiered production servers that may be located around the world. Featuring a state-of-the-art, accessible user interface, OpenDeploy makes it easy for IT managers to administer, control, and monitor deployments from anywhere, anytime.
"Interwoven OpenDeploy gives AirClic the ability to do manual and timed content deployments to meet the needs of their growing customer base, in addition to bringing about reduced administrative and development costs and increased productivity," said Rene White, senior vice president of marketing at Interwoven. "With time-sensitive customer updates, it was essential for AirClic to select a comprehensive enterprise content management solution that would allow for code and content to be easily managed within one repository and then deployed to its wireless customers in a secure manner."
