Interwoven ECM to Help Power Single, All-Embracing Communications Platform for
More Than 52,000 Employees of Leading UK Retailer
SUNNYVALE, Calif., - December 16, 2002 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV),
a world leader in Enterprise Content Management (ECM),today announced that The
Boots Company Plc (Boots) has selected Interwoven's ECM platform to help create
a single intranet for 52,000 Boots employees. Boots is the leading retailer
and manufacturer of health and beauty products in the UK. The new intranet is
the result of a business-wide restructuring program designed to simplify and
speed up decision-making. Previously Boots had several divisions, including
property and manufacturing, each with their own intranet. These activities have
now been brought together under one business unit, Boots Retail.
"Our intention is to create a single means of effective and consistent communication for our 52,000 employees with one intranet for all Boots information," says David Lister, Boots chief information officer. The Interwoven 5 platform was chosen for its scalability and collaboration features that encourage and enable end-user content contribution. These features include templates for easy contribution, workflows that map to Boots business, e-mail integration, and the import of enterprise content from other IT systems. Interwoven will provide Boots employees with the means to easily create, edit, and deploy more robustinformation within a single portal.

The Interwoven 5 platform will integrate with Microsoft Windows 2000 and will be implemented by both IBM Global Services and Interwoven's Client Services Organization.
