iManage CFO and CTO Bring Significant Industry Experience to Help Lead the New Interwoven
SUNNYVALE, Calif., November 18, 2003 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), provider of the world's best-integrated enterprise content management platform, today announced the appointment of two new executives. John Calonico joins Interwoven's executive team as senior vice president of finance, and assumes the position of chief financial officer in the first quarter of 2004. Rafiq Mohammadi becomes co-chief technology officer with Jack Jia, currently senior vice president and CTO at Interwoven, to form the "Office of the CTO." Mohammadi also assumes the new position of senior vice president of engineering.
Calonico will be responsible for overseeing finance and administration at Interwoven. He has more than 20 years of experience in finance, including accounting, merger and acquisition, and information systems experience. Prior to Interwoven, Calonico served as chief financial officer of iManage, Inc. and Blue Martini Software, Inc. He also held executive finance positions at GlobalCenter, Inc., BEA Systems, and Autodesk. Dave Allen, Interwoven's current CFO, will continue to serve in that position though January 31, 2004, and, moving forward, will be supporting the market adoption of collaborative document management solutions targeted to solve Sarbanes-Oxley compliance issues.
"Interwoven is an established leader in content management, and with the iManage merger, Interwoven has expanded its offering to provide the best-integrated ECM platform on the market," said Calonico. "The combined company has substantial financial resources which will help us responsibly grow the company. I look forward to helping Interwoven achieve its business and financial objectives going forward."
Mohammadi, a 20-year veteran of the content management and network communication industries, will be responsible for research and development activities at Interwoven. Before joining Interwoven, Mohammadi co-founded iManage where he served as chief technology officer. Prior to iManage, Mohammadi founded M/H Group, a leading provider of technologies integrating personal computers with mini computer systems. Going forward, Interwoven's co-CTO, Jack Jia, will focus on product management, and together, in the new "Office of the CTO," both Mohammadi and Jia will provide product strategy and vision for the company.
"Enterprise content management continues to be a top technology priority for enterprises," Mohammadi said. "Interwoven has a rich heritage of engineering innovation, and I look forward to working closely with Jack and to leading Interwoven's engineering team to deliver the next generation of products that will enable our customers to manage content within and beyond the enterprise."
"Interwoven is focused on providing the industry's best-integrated ECM platform," said Martin Brauns, chairman and CEO of Interwoven. "With their deep understanding of collaboration, document management, and hands-on customer experience from their time at iManage, John and Rafiq will help guide Interwoven to continue to enhance its ECM capabilities and bring our vision of Content Networks to fruition."
The appointments come at an opportune time for Interwoven and the enterprise content management industry at large. Enterprises are struggling to control, re-purpose, and gain access to an enormous amount of business-critical enterprise content that remains buried behind infrastructure boundaries among business units. On November 19, Interwoven will outline an industry vision called "Content Networks," which will solve problems related to further empowering business users to manage content within and beyond an enterprise. The latest milestone in executing on this vision was the close of the iManage merger today (see http://www.interwoven.com.tw/news/press/2003/111803mergervote.html). Already largely integrated with Interwoven's enterprise content management platform, iManage offers the industry's leading, fully integrated document management and collaboration solution for empowering teams across the extended enterprise. Together, the merged company offers the world's best-integrated ECM platform for complete content lifecycle management - from content collaboration and creation, through management, distribution, reuse, archival, and disposition.
Interwoven, Inc. provides the world's next-generation enterprise content management platform. Allied with the leading enterprise application providers, the Interwoven ECM platform provides complete content lifecycle management for 2,700 organizations worldwide including Air France, Cisco Systems, General Electric, General Motors, and Yamaha.
