Interwoven WorkSite MP Combined with Kofax Ascent Capture to Reduce Costs Related to Control, Delivery, and Archiving of Customer Invoices

SUNNYVALE, Calif – November 22, 2004 – Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, today announced that Intesa Mediofactoring, the largest financial factoring company in Italy, will leverage Interwoven Document Management and Kofax information capture to reduce the high costs associated with paper-driven business processes including managing customer invoices.

Mediofactoring, an Interwoven Web Content Management customer since 2003, provides financial factoring services to 3,500 customers across Europe and manages a turnover of more than 27 billion Euros annually. A major component of their factoring business is managing other companies’ accounts receivables, which is an information-intensive business.

When Mediofactoring decided it could improve efficiencies and reduce compliance risk by moving many of its paper-intensive business processes to a document management and image processing system, it turned to Interwoven and Kofax, the world’s leading provider of information capture solutions. The combination of Interwoven WorkSite MP and Kofax’s Ascent capture platform provides an end-to-end system to capture, process, distribute and retain paper and electronic documents.

The first business process to be automated using this system will be the highly manual task of processing customer invoices. Invoices and other related documents captured by the Kofax technology, will be automatically assigned to a workflow for processing within WorkSite MP. Documents, including those scanned through the system, will be automatically tagged with metadata and easier to retrieve as a result. Converting paper-based processes including invoicing to an electronic system will also help Mediofactoring comply with its parent company Banca Intesa’s group policies regarding retrieval and retention of client data.

“Interwoven was already our vendor for Web Content Management and choosing them for Document Management was a logical extension of that successful relationship,” said Francesco Sacchi IT director at Intesa Mediofactoring. “WorkSite MP's tight integration with Kofax Ascent Capture willallow us tostreamline allof our document-based internal processes tocontrol costs and reduce compliance risks.”

“We are very proud of the fact that a leader in their field such as Intesa Mediofactoring has once again placed their trust in Interwoven,” said James Murray, vice president for Interwoven EMEA. “And we are equally gratified that we were able to demonstrate to them that we understood their business and that we could provide a solution to address some of their most pressing business challenges.”

Interwoven WorkSite MP delivers the foundation to facilitate team-based collaboration on document-intensive processes, including new product launches, proposal and contract development, corporate legal matters, and general project management, to improve organizational decision-making and streamline execution, improving efficiency by an average of 40 percent. Its Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) ensures interoperability and tight integrations with other enterprise applications: desktop applications such as MS Office, MS Outlook, Lotus Notes; as well as enterprise-class workflow and electronic records management products. The combination of Kofax and WorkSite MP dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of capturing and organizing mission-critical business information.
