Erik Hansen to Spearhead Interwoven's Strong Regional ECM Market Growth; Brings Over 25 Years of Experience from Technology Leaders Including Netegrity, TIBCO and Apple

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - April 4, 2005 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, today announced the appointment of Erik Hansen to the position of general manager and senior vice president for Interwoven's operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as to the company's executive management board. A seasoned executive, Hansen has over twenty years of experience with a number of leading technology companies in Europe and the U.S. including Netegrity, TIBCO Software, Apple(r), Digital Equipment, Altos Computer, and Siemens Pyramid Information Systems. In this position, Hansen will oversee an experienced management team to further expand Interwoven's strong presence in the growing EMEA ECM market, drive increased revenue, and ensure the strategic execution of the company's operational goals within this important market.

Hansen joins Interwoven from Netegrity where he served as the general manager for the company's EMEA operations and was responsible for revenue growth and expanding the company's presence in EMEA. Prior to Netegrity, Hansen was responsible for EMEA and Latin America operations for TIBCO Software where he helped to build and spearhead a team of over 200 people across 10 countries. Under his direction, TIBCO's EMEA operations quadrupled revenue over a four-year period. At both Netegrity and TIBCO, Hansen was also instrumental in building strong partner and alliance networks throughout EMEA.

"We are extremely fortunate to have someone with Erik's vast experience join the Interwoven management team and lead our growing operations in EMEA," said Martin Brauns, chairman and CEO of Interwoven. "Erik's management experience and strong sales performance have earned him an excellent reputation within the global technology industry and we have no doubt that he will be a powerful driving force behind Interwoven's continued success in EMEA."

Interwoven's presence in EMEA is strong with direct operations in the UK, Benelux, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, and Sweden. Key regional customers include Adidas-Salomon; ABN-AMRO; BT; Siemens; BP; Novartis; Intesa Mediofactoring in Italy; Wragge & Co. LLP, a leading UK law firm; and many others.

Recently, Interwoven EMEA customer debis AirFinance, an airplane leasing company and division of DaimlerChrysler Services, won the prestigious 'Application of the Year' award from The Netherlands-based VIP Magazine for the company's exemplary implementation of Interwoven Collaborative Document Management. debis AirFinance received the award after garnering the leading vote count from VIP Magazine's readership, beating nominations from other regional ECM vendors and systems integrators. Headquartered in Amsterdam, debis AirFinance implemented Interwoven Collaborative Document Management to increase operational efficiency as it manages a fleet of nearly 300 aircraft that it leases to 85 airlines in 45 countries across the globe. Morningstar Systems, a leading Interwoven systems integrator partner in EMEA spearheaded debis AirFinance's successful implementation.

"Throughout my years in the technology industry, I've witnessed and been directly involved in the emergence of a number of enterprise technologies, but none compare to the sizeable growth for which the ECM market is poised," said Erik Hansen, general manager and senior vice president of EMEA operations at Interwoven. "I'm thrilled to join the Interwoven team and look forward to playing an integral role in the growth of the EMEA ECM market, and building upon Interwoven's strong regional success and leadership."
