Taiwan's Largest Life Insurance Company Streamlines Knowledge Sharing and Reduces Time-to-Web From Weeks to Days with Interwoven

SUNNYVALE, Calif - August 1, 2005 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, today announced that Cathay Life Insurance, Taiwan's largest life insurance company, has achieved dramatic improvements in productivity and efficiency across the enterprise through the use of Interwoven ECM. By enabling Cathay to standardize Web page content management processes and speed time-to-Web for its Enterprise Information Portal (EIP), Interwoven has helped the company provide employees with timely, accurate information and facilitate increased knowledge sharing throughout the organization. The company is currently using Interwoven's market-leading Web Content Management (WCM) solution to power its EIP within Cathay Life Insurance, with plans to expand the use of its portal across additional Cathay companies.

Cathay Life Insurance deals with a huge, widely dispersed volume of internal data. In creating a new enterprise-wide portal to help its employees access and share this data more efficiently, the company sought a content management solution that would enable it to standardize on a highly efficient set of processes for the creation and management of Web content. In addition, because the portal would eventually be extended beyond Cathay Life Insurance to cover additional companies in the Cathay group, it was essential for the EIP's architecture to be as transparent and seamless as possible.

After evaluating a number of different solutions on the market, Cathay selected the Interwoven WCM solution because of its market-leading ease of use. By using the Interwoven solution, Cathay has established a set of standardized procedures for previewing, auditing, and uploading content to the EIP. The solution's single, unified management platform streamlines verification and approval processes, and includes a comprehensive versioning capability that automatically makes a complete record of all approved content before it is posted to the EIP. As a result, Cathay has reduced the time needed to get content up on the site from several weeks to just a few days, ensuring a highly dynamic and effective enterprise portal for its employees.

Content in any working area can be changed without affecting other working areas, and different versions can be created for auditing or file saving purposes at any time. New websites can be set up quickly by simply adding a new branch without the need to alter the existing website structure, providing a high level of extensibility.

Cathay also uses the automated workflow capabilities of Interwoven OpenDeploy content distribution software to transmit approved content to multiple websites simultaneously.
