Leading Law Firm to Achieve Powerful Firm-Wide Collaboration and Improved Processes with New Interwoven-Microsoft SharePoint Integration
Deep Integration Between Interwoven and Microsoft SharePoint Enables Am Law 100 Firm to Implement a Robust, End-to-End Solution for Matter-Centric Collaboration
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - October 31, 2005 - Interwoven, Inc. (Nasdaq: IWOV), a leading provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, today announced that Hogan & Hartson L.L.P, an Am Law 100 firm with offices around the world, will be implementing the new Interwoven WorkSite for Microsoft SharePoint integration to enable more effective firm-wide collaboration (see "Interwoven Announces Availability of Integration with Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server, Extending the Ease-of Use and Ubiquity of Interwoven Document Management," August 22, 2005). As a result, Hogan & Hartson can more efficiently leverage the firm's two key technology platforms: Interwoven's Matter-Centric Collaboration solution, based on Interwoven WorkSite 8 document management software, and Microsoft's SharePoint Portal Server 2003. Hogan & Hartson's planned implementation of the WorkSite for SharePoint integration reinforces the value that leading professional services companies recognize in the tight integration of two of their most critical technology platforms-Interwoven and Microsoft.
Based on Interwoven WorkSite 8 software, Interwoven's Matter-Centric Collaboration solution enables professional services practitioners, for the first time, to manage client and matter-related content in the electronic world the way they have done for more than 100 years in the physical world. Business professionals can consolidate documents, records, e-mails, billing, contacts, and all other relevant content for any given client or matter in a single integrated file that is accessible both internally and externally across departments and locations. By integrating with Microsoft SharePoint, Interwoven is extending the power of its industry-leading Matter-Centric Collaboration solution, enabling business professionals to easily access robust document management functionality from within the Microsoft SharePoint portal environment. Together, Interwoven and Microsoft are providing the industry's most complete end-to-end solution for professional services firms to manage critical content, enhance client and business relationships, enable efficient collaboration over distance, and improve staff utilization.
Deep Interwoven-Microsoft Integration Drives Effective Firm-Wide Matter-Centric Collaboration
Headquartered in Washington, D.C., Hogan & Hartson employs more than 1,000 attorneys, has 23 offices around the globe, and serves clients across virtually all legal disciplines and industries. Like most professional services organizations, the firm views its document management and collaboration capabilities as key drivers of productivity and competitive advantage. To date, Hogan & Hartson has relied on Interwoven's Matter-Centric Collaboration solution and Microsoft's SharePoint Portal Server as strategic technology platforms, each complementing the other, but only loosely integrated.
With the new capabilities of the integrated solution, Hogan & Hartson can enable its lawyers and staff to access all documents, e-mails, and records stored in the Interwoven Matter-Centric Collaboration solution via SharePoint. Teams of lawyers will be able to take advantage of SharePoint's collaboration and information aggregation capabilities while maintaining easy, immediate, and full-featured access to the documents they have stored in Interwoven. Lawyer teams will be able to take advantage of SharePoint's collaboration and information aggregation capabilities while maintaining easy, immediate, and full-featured access to the matter-centric folders they have accumulated within Interwoven. As a seamless upgrade to existing technologies, the integration will enable Hogan & Hartson to realize greater value and return on investment from both Interwoven and Microsoft SharePoint without having to change or disrupt existing business processes.
"Interwoven's Matter-Centric Collaboration solution and Microsoft's SharePoint Portal Server fulfill complementary roles for us, and both are key elements in our rapidly evolving information management architecture," said Bill Gregory, CIO, Hogan & Hartson. "WorkSite for SharePoint opens up the strengths of Interwoven's proven document management solution - and our vast collection of documents and e-mails - to the rich portal environment of SharePoint. It does so without sacrificing the feature set our attorneys have come to know in WorkSite. We look forward to using Worksite for SharePoint to create new opportunities for matter teams to fully leverage the combined capabilities of ECM and portal technologies."
"Effective document management and collaboration represent two of the most important strategic capabilities for today's professional services firms," said Neil Araujo, vice president, professional services solutions at Interwoven. "By bringing to market an integration with the Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, Interwoven is helping leading law firms like Hogan & Hartson leverage the combined functionality of their key technology platforms within a single, highly-efficient and user-friendly environment to support powerful firm-wide collaboration for enhanced client service and competitive differentiation."
